The death of George Bellows, the noted artist, who passed away in New York City on January 8, succumbing to an attack of appendicitis, recalls his visit and stay in Santa Fe seven years ago, when he had a studio facing on the patio of the Palace...It was the enthusiasm of Robert Henri, a close friend, which brought Bellows to Santa Fe...He presented to the Museum a copy of his print "At Sharkey's", one of the most popular pictures of his youth.
