eMuseum Notes
Cuban-born artist Marta María Pérez Bravo created this intervention in the Cuban landscape by making hundreds of strands of paper to create a visual waterfall. This piece pre-dates the artist's self-portraits, which are performances before the camera using her own body as an altar. Oftentimes, she uses symbols or references to the Afro-Cuban religion, Santeria.
