When the painting was recieved, a gallery label from the Harwood Foundation was attached (presumably to the frame) on the verso upper left corner. At some unknown point, the label was removed from the piece. This label is now stored in the Accession file.

Hennings delivered the painting to Isobel Lord at her home in Clayton, New Mexico on January 18, 1939. He, his wife, and daughter signed her guest book, which is in the possession of Sharon Lord, her daughter and heir. Isobel paid $350 for the painting.

There is a brass dedication plaque in the Accession file. Included in the Accession file is a note from former MOA Director Marsha Bol, dated 5/3/2002, mentioning that a commemorative plaque was made at an unknown date after the donation of the painting. This plaque was supposed to be affixed to the painting but was never attached for some unknown reason and still remains in the Accession file with the original screws.

The plaque reads as follows: Contributed in loving memory of Simon and Maud Herstein by Isobel Herstein Lord to the Museum of Fine Arts
