Parker is known for her contemporary still life photographs that often incorporate archival scraps, ephemera, and used objects. She is interested in working with “objects rich in human implications.” Here the artist brings together two shadow horses with an old engraving and a diagram of the earth’s orbit around the sun. Along with her title, the juxtaposition of the elements hints at both the merry-go-round of life and seasons and their ephemerality.
