Spanish-born artist Teo González is known for his grid-like compositions composed of thousands of dots that are visually analogous to cells, Ben-day dots, or pixels. González’s process is reliant on both a systematic visual architecture and the element of chance, as the physics of evaporation cause a dispersion of the color. Within Gonzalez’s paintings and drawings, there is great tension between the repetition of the cells and the individuality of each.
