Betty Hahn’s multifaceted work embodies a truly unconventional approach to photography. By incorporating media such as lithography, embroidery, and painting, she has explored new ways to create photographs while simultaneously exposing its limitations. Hahn’s subject matter encompasses a broad spectrum of imagery -- family snapshots, American icons, botanical studies, etc. -- but is unified by her penchant for ambiguity and subtle contradictions.
