Divita is a painter who lives and works in Chicago, where she was born. She studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, before earning her BFA and MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her paintings have been widely exhibited in Illinois as well as in Michigan, Indiana, and New Mexico. This work is from a series of small paintings she made, many of animals, that are all untitled and each has a custom frame bearing a brass label with a word on it (Trudger, Want, Desire, Gypsy, etc.).
