Text Entries
Beneath the vast grasslands of southeastern New Mexico lies the rich oil and natural gas deposits of the Permian Basin. This dramatic night view in Eddy County emphasizes the strange but ingenious additions to the landscape by human beings who prize these resources. While the pump jacks works tirelessly to capture fuel, the nearby pipe releases excess gas, creating a toxic lightshow on the prairie.
