eMuseum NotesIf Minimalism can be said to reduce visual imagery to its most elemental forms, Gloria Graham’s drawings from the series Molecules literally looks to the elements for its imagery. Graham draws the molecular structure of various minerals or crystals—often on layered sheets of vellum but also, as in this case, with ink on kaolin. Graham’s earliest work was in ceramics. She started research on molecular structures, which she incorporated into drawings on paper, kaolin works, and wall drawings in 1994.
