According to information supplied by the artist in an e-mail to Katherine Ware: “This archivally stable pigment inkjet print (2880 dpi) is on Canson Edition Etching Rag paper, made by the photographer on an Epson Stylus Pro 9900 printer using Epson High Dynamic Range (HDR) pigment inks, November 2013.”
In this view of the Glen Canyon Dam near Page, Arizona, the artist has flattened the composition so that everything pictured seems to occupy a single plane. The massive retaining wall of the dam at left and the engineering feat of a steel bridge at right do not appear as intrusive, man-made elements in this picture. Instead, their scale and surfaces blend in with the rocky landscape around them, creating an intriguing graphic composition.
