Betty Hahn’s series “Collect from Berlin” was inspired by B-grade movies and the genre of film noir. The ambiguous and uneasy atmosphere of this picture is emphasized by the artist’s use of darkness and indistinct forms. Rather than concentrating on storytelling, she creates a strong mood.

The series “Collect from Berlin” includes four photolithographs inspired by grade B film noir movies. Printed in black on Lana Gravure paper in an edition of 11 with 1 set of artist proofs. Printed by Rodney Hamon of Black and Blue Press, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The left margin of the sheet (paper only, no print) includes three sets of two punch holes. In a conversation with the artist in the spring of 2015, she told curator Katherine Ware to “just cut that off.”
