Alberto Morales Jimenez.

Translation: Another wound in the already bleeding Mexican heart was the notorious rural police, the Acordadas, to whom the misery stricken people dedicated heartfelt songs. The Acordadas were made up of rural guards that not only ripped the peasants from their homes and lands but were also the ruthless and merciless mechanism of the Porfiriato brutality. People fought against the Acordadas, including carrying out organized attacks against them. Translated by Aída Wester, Intern 2017.
