eMuseum Notes
Alberto Morales Jimenez.

Translation: During the lavish festivities of the first Centennial of the Independence of Mexico, the self-proclaimed Científicos (Scientificists) and others favored by the regime pretended to have a deep fondness for the natives while in the company of foreign visitors. Parades of dancers and floats marched through the city streets while in rural areas the natives starved. Translated by Aída Wester, Intern 2017.
