Historical text from the accompanying booklet reads as: Fue el general Emiliano Zapata el Caudillo Agrarista por excelencia. Su vida es un ejemplo de militancia permanente en favor de los desheredados de su tiempo. En el Plan de Ayala quedó plasmado su pensamiento y durante muchos años, sin claudicaciones de ninguna naturaleza, luchó por la realización de sus nobles ideas sociales. Su nombre y su obra son venerados por todos los campesinos de la República y en numerosos países extranjeros. Alberto Morales Jimenez. Translation: General Emiliano Zapata was the preeminent caudillo (leader) of the Agrarian Reform. His life is an example of persistent militancy in support of the destitute peoples of his time. His thinking was captured in the Plan de Ayala (Plan of Ayala) and for many years he fought for the implementation of his noble social ideals. His name and work are revered by all the peasants of the Republic, as well as by people in many foreign countries. Translated by Aída Wester, Intern 2017.
