Historical text from the accompanying booklet reads as: Felipe Carrillo Puerto es por antonomasia el líder socialista del sureste. Consagró los mejores años de su vida a la lucha en favor del proletariado y de los campesinos de la Península. En 1924 fue asesinado en compañía de sus inmediatos colaboradores. El Pueblo mexicano, agradecido, ha puesto su nombre a muchas poblaciones de la República, a importantes centros educativos y culturales y a numerosos sindicatos obreros. Alberto Morales Jimenez.
Translation: Felipe Carrillo Puerto is the quintessential socialist leader of the Southeast. He dedicated the best years of his life to the fight in support of the working class and the peasants of the peninsula (Yucatan Peninsula). In 1924, he was assassinated in the company of his immediate collaborators. The Mexican people expressed their gratitude by naming many towns, important educational and cultural centers, and numerous labor unions after him. Translated by Aída Wester, Intern 2017.
