eMuseum Notes
Alberto Morales Jimenez.

Translation: In response to the Educational Reform of 1934, the clergy launched a despicable campaign against the country's rural educators.  Many rural schools were demolished and hundreds of teachers were murdered by Cristero (Catholic militant) mobs that sometimes resorted to cutting the ears off of the noble promoters of literacy. This was another criminal offense that the clergy had perpetrated against the mother country. Translated by Aída Wester, Intern 2017.
