Alberto Morales Jimenez.

Translation: With the sole purpose of benefiting those favored by the regime headed by Porfirio Díaz, indigenous communities across Mexico were stripped of their legitimate and centuries-old agricultural properties. In the state of Sonora, the Yaqui tribe fought for more than a quarter of a century in the defense of their lands against well supplied and numerically superior federal forces. The same happened in Yucatan and other parts of the Republic. Translated by Aída Wester, Intern 2017.
