eMuseum Notes
Noggle often photographed herself while driving between Albuquerue and Santa Fe. In this self-portrait in her Volkswagen Beetle, she tries to capture her feelings as a recent recipient of a prestigious John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship. Noggle came to photography late in life, after a career as a pilot, and the validation of the award, as well as the funding, was a significant achievement.
The artist was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship in 1982.
