The artist was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship in 1982.
In 1982, Noggle was awarded a prestigious John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship in support of her work in photography. Noggle came to photography late in life, after a career as a pilot, and to celebrate the award she imagined a self-portrait that joined her love of flying with her love of photography. Positioned in the back of a two-seater plane flying near Tucson, Arizona, the artist unites the two major roles of her life and is flying high.
