DescriptionFull-length portrait of a woman at center of composition, wearing light-colored dress, open-toed sandals, drop earrings, and a bracelet and ring on her right arm and hand. She is standing on what looks like a wooden deck outside a house, with a wall behind her. With her right hand, she is raising the hem of her dress above waist level and her left arm is bent with hand behind her head. She is looking at the camera and winking with her right eye.

In a conversation with Katherine Ware in December 2016, Noggle’s friend and studio assistant Jim Holbrook dated this photograph to the 1990s. He said it was part of a group of images called “Overexposed” in which Noggle pulled up the hem of her dress to expose her bare crotch.
In this image, Noggle imitates the iconic film star Marilyn Monroe, who stood over a subway grate in the white cocktail dress in the 1955 film “The Seven Year Itch.” The image of Monroe with the dress billowing up around her is a now-classic image of coy yet provocative femininity. In adopting this pose as an older woman, Noggle flouts expectations and asserts her own appeal and sexuality.
