Etching on paper, an artist’s proof by Gene Kloss, “The Rio Grande at Embudo,” 1973 About 2" down from the top border of this etching can be seen a remnant of the Old Narrow Gauge Railroad. Familiarity called "The Chile Line" because of the cargo it brought back to Colorado. Embudo was the first stop on the river coming down.

DescriptionArtist's proof of a southwest New Mexican landscape. Mountain ranges fill the horizons and background with trees along their base. A canyon/river runs along the bottom of the print. A suspended footbridge stretches across the gorge. At one end of the bridge is a small adobe building. A small human form walks across the bridge.
