eMuseum Notes
In the fancy dance category, Native dancers are invited to show off their dance and costuming skills in a non-ceremonial context. Many pow-wows – festive gatherings to honor community and celebrative Native culture -- feature these competitions, which tend to be energetic and colorful and represent a great deal of preparation.
