Included in this dinner at a small Lower West Side French restaurant/boardinghouse called Petitpas' at 317 West 29th Street, New York City, are Robert Henri, his wife Marjorie, John Butler Yeats, George Bellows and his wife, Emma.

The restaurant/boarding house was run by the three Petitpas sisters, Marie, Josephine and Celestine. Petitpas was also the residence of Irish painter John Butler Yeats from October of 1909 until his death 12 years later in 1921.
