The subject is the artist's mother Agnes Noggle, (1890-1980).
See a variant photograph of Agnes in the 1983 publication Silver Lining, p. 35. The variant image was cropped along the top edge, truncating the objects on the wall behind Agnes.
The donors are Mary Pease, (1918-2004), the artist's elder sister and only sibling and her husband Chester Pease, (1914-1978).
