In a conversation with Katherine Ware in 2016, Noggle's longtime friend and assistant Jim Holbrook identified the subject at Matalie Wham, a concert pianist who was Nancy Barry's girlfriend before Barry and Noggle got together. Holbrook stated that this picture was probably taken at Matalie's house in Albuquerque's Northeast Heights.

Jim Holbrook, Noggle's longtime friend and studio assistant noted that Noggle printed black lines around her prints until the mid-to-late 1970's.
