The donors are Mary Pease, (1918-2004), the artist's elder sister and only sibling and her husband Chester Pease, (1914-1978).
In a conversation with curator Katherine Ware on 6/10/2016, Noggle's longtime friend and studio assistant Jim Holbrook identified the woman in the photograph as Nancy Barry, who was Noggle's girlfriend at the time. Holbrook speculates that this and related images of Nancy may have been made at the home or shop of a hairdresser friend. Mildred's, a gay bar was across the street from Noggle's house and was a place that Barry enjoyed frequenting. There Barry would meet new people whom she sometimes introduced to others, such as perhaps someone named Larry whose suit she wears here.
