eMuseum Notes

The subject of this portrait is the artist's friend, Yolanda Belloli, (1894-1983), an American artist known for her sculpture. Boston-born Yolanda married the Italian architect Count Giorgio Belloli and they bought land along the Santa Fe River, (1379 Upper Canyon Road) in 1930 and the following year the Cason del Triunfo, (House of Triumph), was completed. The couple separated in 1947 and Yolanda remained in the home until her death in 1983. Belloli was important in sparking Noggle's interest in art. She was a frequent subject of Noggle's photographs.  Belloli left the house to Noggle in her will and Noggle sold it.
