Noggle was an experienced flier and served her country as a Women's Air Force Service Pilot, posthumously receiving a Congressional Medal of Honor in 2010.  She was dedicated to publicizing the role of women pilots in service to their country and published a book of her portraits of these women in 1990, titled "For God, Country and the Thrill of it," see p. 80.
