The artist numbers in the inscription, "8.84-2" indicates that the piece was made in August, 1984 and was the second piece completed that month.
This piece was made during the artist's time at the Roswell Artist-in-Residence program in Roswell. New Mexico, (from June, 1984 to June, 1985).
The artist says that her titles are intuitive and come to her when working on each piece.
Some of the colored spots pictured on the composition are blobs of oil-paint used by the artist to hand-color her photographs.
