Description
The artist used friends and family to enact scenarios for her camera. In this portrait, her partner Marjorie Shellenberger (Shelley) participates in the image. The title of the work refers to Ansel Adams' famous New Mexico photograph, Moonrise Over Hernandez. According to Noggle's longtime friend and studio assistant Jim Holbrook, the photograph was made in Noggle's backyard, perhaps on the deck.
