Leandro KatzArgentinean, born 1927

A poet and visual artist born in Argentina, Leandro Katz has lived and worked in New York since 1965. His films and photographic installations have been shown at museums throughout the United States, Europe and Latin America, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He has made 15 non-narrative and narrative films and published 18 books. He has received fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, among others. Katz has been a professor of film production and theory in the College of Arts and Communication at William Paterson University since 1987.
