BiographyNancy Wilson-Pajic (formerly Wilson-Kitchel) was born in Peru, Indiana in 1941. She began her artistic career as a painter and started working in alternative media in the mid- 1960s. Her later artistic production consists of a combination of audio recordings, text, photography, installation and performance. In addition to utilizing alternative media to make her work, Wilson-Pajic was interested in providing alternative venues for exhibition. In 1972, she, along with 19 other women, founded A.I.R. Gallery in New York. A.I.R. was dedicated to exhibiting and championing artwork made by women and providing a professional exhibition space for emerging female artists to gain exposure for their work.
