Dante Marioni

Dante Marioni is best known for his freely blown colorful glass vessels, including variations of vase goblets, flasks, and cups, influenced in form by the Venetian tradition. His father, Paul Marioni, was in the American studio glass movement and Dante was constantly exposed to many of the glassblowing artist of the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1979 he moved with his family to Seattle and he began to study glassblowing at The Glass Eye and spent summers at Pilchuck Glass School where his father taught. His work is in the collections of the Corning Museum of Glass, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Mint Museum of Craft + Design, the White House Collection of American Crafts, Columbia Museum of Art, and Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
