BiographyMichael Namingha lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is from a family of artists. He earned a B.B.A. degree in Design and Management at the Parsons School of Design in New York and attended master classes at the Santa Fe Art Institute (1996-97) with artists including John Baldessari, Fritz Scholder, and Manuel Neri. His work is multidisciplinary and features a spare, contemporary esthetic. As a keen observer of today’s society, he often makes work that comments on modern interpersonal relationships and popular culture. His work is in the collections of the Peabody Essex Museum; The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum; the Museum of Contemporary Native Art in Santa Fe; and the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff.
