Sharon Lockhart

The artist, Sharon Lockhart, is an internationally acclaimed photographer and filmmaker. The connection between being presented and presenting oneself is central to Sharon Lockhart's work and an issue for photography in general. The discussion of being "other" or "othering" a community through their representation and presentation is of much concern in the museum field particularly now. Lockhart's work has been exhibited in such art institutions as: The Rose Museum, California Museum of Photography, San Francisco Museum of Art, Colby Art Museum, Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, Hammer Museum, Kemper Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and the Broad Museum.
