Text Entries: I got a phone call from John Candelario’s widow and wanted us to have her contact information for our records. Please note that she changed her name back to her maiden name and is somewhat in hiding from Candelario’s adult children, at least one of whom has been in contact with me. She was adamant that she does not want them to know her whereabouts or anything at all, so the information is confidential but so it our having it! It was an extended conversation and I referred her to Daniel Kosharek at the Photo Archive as the questions she had cannot be answered with our collection or artist file. I told her I would send her a note in the late summer as we will probably some of Candelario’s work in the modernism exhibition. Thanks, Michelle Lores A. Klingbeil 10605 Towne Park Dr., N.E. Text Entries: Copyright to Rick's works included in the estate gift was transferred to Museum via the gift agreement. Copyright to all the other works was given by the Estate to a defunct New Mexico nursing program as a residual. I spoke to Carla (Ralph Scheuer's Assistant) from Scheuer, Yost & Patterson, the law firm which handled the estate. The nursing program was acquired by another company and then by yet another and then finally disbanded. Carla tracked the nursing program assets as far as they could but ultimately couldn't locate what entity ended up with the residuals. It is almost certain that whatever company/group ended up with the assets was not aware of the copyright to the Dillingham works.
