Seizing the chance opportunity to capture this roiling cloud formation, the artist creates a dynamic composition. “I try to leave room for the unanticipated, the stranger unmet,” he says about his work. Belcher is known for his black-and-white views of the New Mexico landscape but has specialized in the cloud- and star-studded skies of Galisteo, in the northern part of the state.
