eMuseum Notes
Many artists romanticize the life of a cowboy, though it is a tough job. Having grown up on a ranch, Barbara Van Cleve lovingly portrays that way of life and is not afraid to show the hardships. Her title for this photograph, “A Little Dusty,” is a masterpiece of understatement. The picture is choked with the dust of many hooves making their way up the hill.
