Ortiz’s work can be described as a personal
poetic discourse that communicates place or moments in time, by means of
reductive imagery. In ‘Blaubarts-Berg #1” the simple blue square is centrally
placed, suggesting importance, and referencing the title of the work, which
translates into Blue Beard’s Castle.
