DescriptionVertical composition with a view looking up at a tall palm tree at approximate center of page. To its right is a shorter palm tree. Sky visible behind them is filled with fluffy white clouds with an elliptical gap around the center of page through which only sky is visible. Double or long exposure in camera has created lighter images of each tree.eMuseum Notes
Two palm trees rise up at the center of this picture, backlit by the California sun and inhabiting a sky of fluffy white clouds. The artist captures them as they totter in the wind, blurring their outlines and perhaps also placing them in an idealized or mythic realm that doesn’t include urban sprawl, air pollution, and gridlock.
