DescriptionCover of book is black handmade paper with pattern of white cubes. Black fabric at binding and corners. Gold box stamped on cover with title in gold letters: FAMILY ALBUM // ALEX TRAUBE. Binding is two boards containing 55 pages, attached at left end by brass rivets. Textured black endpapers. Accompanying the book is a CD of recorded interviews with his subjects and a flyer made by the artist to solicit participation in the project [see object file]. The book features a family portrait of ten groups of people with a short biography, each followed by interpretive work by Traube featuring photographs, copies of family snapshots, text, etc. The families are:
