eMuseum Notes
Leigh Anne Langwell found inspiration for her photograms from her employment as a medical photographer, after which she delved into the exploration of molecular organisms as an artist. In order to create these investigations of the living body, Langwell utilizes translucent, household objects to construct three-dimensional sculptures, positions them on photographic paper, and exposes them to light. Her photograms, while depicting the dynamic relationship between microcosms, also create windows into the universe, suggesting an interconnection between what is tangible and what is beyond the scope of understanding.
