DescriptionImage showing a long line of horse drawn wagons passing over a quickly build and elevated wooden road with more wagons snaking in the distance heading toward a frozen Volga River. Although the image is untitled, similar images are known from the Dec. 1942-Jan 1943 time period of the Battle of Stalingrad. The wagons appear to be supply vehicles approaching the river to load. The hardship of the Russian winter is captured by this documentation of war.
