Paul Reinwald
Paul Reinwald (American, b. 1950) is a wet-process, black-and-white photographer whose prints have been exhibited in Santa Fe over many years. A New Jersey native, he has spent most of his professional life in Santa Fe, living in Eldorado and working for photographer Paul Caponigro in the 1970s before joining the staff at Visions, the highly respected Santa Fe photo lab run by Nikkol and Cody Brothers. Reinwald is an accomplished technician who has developed hundreds of rolls of film for other artists, as well as making his own work. He says that museum curator Steve Yates expressed an interest in acquiring his work for the collection, which resulted in the artist leaving eight printing options of “Pine Tree Arch #2, Utah,” for review. A decision was not made and the prints remained in collections storage in limbo until returned in November 2023.
