Description
In this engaging piece, Rosenblum uses the popular subject of clouds to comment on art making, the role of the audience, and the history of photography. After taking pictures of clouds in a straightforward manner, the artist then posts them on social media sites where random viewers can comment on them. The artist chooses some of these comments and incorporates them into the final image. “I start a conversation with my photographs and anyone may join in the dialog,” she says about this series, which also refers back to a series of cloud photographs by Alfred Stieglitz that he titled “Equivalents” (early 1920s to early 1930s).
