DescriptionMen sitting around a table plotting attacks. The strategists plotting to combat the revolution.eMuseum Notes
Historical text from the accompanying booklet reads as: Porfirio
Alberto Morales Jimenez.
Translation: Simple minded Porfirio Díaz thought he could fight the revolutionary enthusiasts of the Plan de San Luis Potosí (Plan of San Luis Potosí) while seated at a table on the terrace of the Castle of Chapultepec. Such is the truth. He used a map with tiny lead soldiers to coordinate troop movements needed to defeat the enemy. As a result of his strategy the insurgents captured Ciudad Juárez and he had to hurriedly leave to Europe, from where he would never return. Translated by Aída Wester, Intern 2017.
