DescriptionRectangular field of white color with rounded corners and a small square of black and green in center. Inscribed across the lower left edge: Blaubarts Burg. Stamped: 01 ENE.2007. Double sided frame reveals two organic blue and green forms with Bartok repeated on left side of exposed back.eMuseum Notes
Ortiz’s work can be described as a personal
poetic discourse that communicates place or moments in time, by means of reductive
imagery. ‘Blaubarts-Berg #3” is a companion piece to Blaubarts-Berg #1. Blue Beard’s Castle is the English
translation of this title. #1 indicates the architecture of a Castle in a
simple blue square, while #3 takes on an organic form perhaps in reference to
the Blue Beard himself.
