Judith Vejvoda
American, 1952 - 2015
Since moving to New Mexico, the artist has also worked regularly as a teacher at middle schools, community colleges, the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, and for fifteen years at Northern New Mexico College, where she founded and developed the Art Photography Department. Her photographs have been featured in solo exhibitions in New Jersey and throughout the Southwest, as well as appearing in many group exhibitions. Her work has been published in magazines and journals, and is featured in The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes by Christopher James (2002). She has also published Time in the Southwest: Postcards and provided photography for two cookbooks by Mark Miller. Vejvoda’s work is in private, corporate, and museum collections, including the Photographic History Collection at the Smithsonian Institution, the Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota, and the National Association of Women Artists collection at the Jane Vorhees Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University.
