DescriptionCubistic New Mexico landscape; adobe structure in foreground with windows, doors and ladders. Brown mountain range in background.eMuseum Notes
In this watercolor, Cady Wells used the stepped construction of Taos Pueblo as a vehicle for exploring relationships between line and form. His limited color palette and tonal gradations place the emphasis on the harmony and rhythms created by the juxtaposition of line. As a result, Taos Pueblo seems animate, moving and swaying through some unseen force.
