eMuseum Notes
In the 1950s, Cady Wells became interested in aerial views and employed abstract forms and patterns suggestive of topographic maps. His Landscape Study - Hill and Cedars uses curving lines to suggest landscape contours and rivers, with a series of abbreviated marks resembling the dashes and dots of Morse code used to represent foliage and manufactured structures.
